A Blog? What is this for?
This blog was established in November 2020 as a means of cataloging NC State CVM Wellbeing resources, events and other items of interest. It’s intended to be a “place” we can go for all things wellbeing.
How does it work?
The Home Page will always show the latest blog post – and go back in time. That’s just how blogs work. However, if you are interested in a certain category (or element) of wellbeing, you browse the “CATEGORIES” menu on the lower right corner of the page (see image below)
Categories
As you can see, this menu includes each of our CVM Elements of Wellbeing:
- Social
- Mental/Emotional
- Physical
- Cultural
- Career
- Financial
- Environmental
It also includes “Newsletters” for those who might have missed the latest CVM Wellbeing Newsletter and would like to catch up.
Tags
You can also browse or search the blog for certain topics, including Categories, Keywords, and TAGS.
Tags are like little labels – they may not be high-level enough to be considered a main category, but they used for particular topics we may talk about a lot – such that we’d want to be able to easily browse what’s available for that topic – hence, tags!
You can browse recent tags in the tag cloud on the bottom right of the page (See image on the left).
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, and you have a tag or topic you want to find, you can use the search bar to see what is available on the blog. (See image below, to the right)
To see what categories and tags are represented in a post, look at the list under the date on the top left. You can also click these categories and tags to browse them (see below)
How can I use this to find out the latest info, or what’s coming up soon?
To read the latest posts on the CVM Wellbeing Blog, see the “RECENT POSTS” menu on the right. This will list the latest few entries.
If you want to see Wellbeing- or Wellbeing-Adjacent Events coming up at the CVM, you can take a look at our CVM Wellbeing Calendar:
Calendar
*** Currently Under Construction *** At the top-right of the blog, you will see a “Calendar” Menu item. This will take you to a Google Calendar for cvmwellbeing@ncsu.edu. Known wellbeing events and other important dates will be posted on this calendar.
The CVM Wellbeing Calendar is public, meaning you can subscribe to it and view upcoming events on your own calendar! On your Google Calendar page, scroll to “Other Calendars” on the lower left and click on the plus (+) sign and select “Subscribe to Calendar” from the drop-down list. In the “Add Calendar” field, type cvmwellbeing@ncsu.edu , and press enter. Then you’re all set!
